“We treat every family as if they were our own.”
We understand that selecting a headstone is not a simple purchase—it is a tender, emotional decision.
Our family walks alongside yours with patience, clear answers, and respect for your loved one and your budget.
You work directly with our family, not a call center. We know the local cemeteries, caretakers, and their requirements, and we care about the stories behind every memorial we design.
Every cemetery has its own rules for size, style, and installation. We communicate directly with your cemetery, prepare drawings, and make sure everything is approved before your stone is crafted.
From first phone call to installation, we explain each step in plain language—timelines, options, and costs—so there are no surprises and you can move at a comfortable pace.

Lenny Kagan is the owner of Gateway Family Monument Company and works personally with each family to help them create a meaningful and lasting tribute for their loved one. As a local St. Louis–area business owner, Lenny believes a memorial is far more than a marker — it is a permanent reflection of a life and a family’s memories. He takes time to guide families through cemetery requirements, design decisions, and personalization options so they feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. His goal is simple: to make a difficult time a little easier by providing honest guidance, compassionate service, and a memorial families can be proud of for generations.
You don't need to know anything about monuments when you call us. We gently learn about your loved one, your cemetery, and your wishes, then outline a simple plan together.
Or, if it's easier right now, request a quiet in‑home visit and we'll come to you.
1. A calm conversation
We begin with a phone call or in‑person meeting to gently listen and learn about your loved one, your cemetery, and any ideas you may already have.
2. Thoughtful design & options
We present material, color, and shape options that match your cemetery's guidelines and your budget, then create a personalized layout with wording, artwork, and emblems if desired.
3. Cemetery approval made simple
We prepare drawings, submit them to your cemetery, and work directly with them on any revisions, so you never have to chase paperwork or approvals.
4. Crafting & installation
Your monument is professionally carved and engraved, then installed at the cemetery by our experienced team with care, precision, and respect for the grounds.
5. Ongoing support
If you need added lettering in the future or have any questions about care and cleaning, we're here to help.
Whether you prefer something traditional and timeless or simple and understated, we help you choose a memorial that feels right, within the guidelines of your cemetery.
Not sure where to begin?
Many families come to us with only a few ideas—or none at all. That's perfectly okay. We will show you gentle examples and help you narrow down what feels right.

Traditional standing headstones in a variety of shapes, granite colors, and personalized designs for individuals or companion memorials.

Low‑profile granite or bronze markers that sit flush with the ground, often required in specific cemetery sections.

Gently raised monuments that sit on or above a base, offering more visibility while remaining modest and refined.

Larger monuments designed to honor multiple family members, with room for future names and inscriptions.
If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please call us. A quick, caring conversation is often the easiest way to feel more at ease.
Weekdays 9am–5pm • Evening and weekend appointments available by request.
There is no single “right” time. Some families call us within a few weeks, others take many months or longer. Cemeteries may have specific guidelines about when installation can occur, but you are never behind. When you feel ready to talk, we will meet you there.
Very little. If you know the cemetery name and the section or plot, that is helpful—but not required. We can look up many details on your behalf. Photos or examples of stones you like are welcome, but not necessary.
We regularly work with cemeteries across St. Louis and St. Charles County and are familiar with their guidelines. If we haven’t worked with your cemetery before, we’ll contact them directly to learn their requirements and handle approvals for you.
Yes. Many families prefer a quiet in‑home visit, and others find it helpful to walk the cemetery together. We offer both, based on what feels most comfortable and convenient for you.
Costs vary based on size, material, and cemetery requirements. During a free consultation, we provide clear, written estimates with no obligation. We work carefully within your budget and explain options that may save cost without sacrificing craftsmanship.
A brief conversation can answer many questions and bring a sense of relief. There is no obligation and no rush—simply a calm space to talk through options.
If this moment feels too tender for a phone call, you can quietly share a few details and we will reach out at a time that suits you.
