We're here to guide, not to rush you. If your question isn't answered here, please call. A quick, caring conversation is often the easiest way to feel more at ease.
There is no single right time. Some families call us within a few weeks, and others take many months or longer. Some cemeteries have guidelines about when installation can happen, and ground settling or winter weather can affect timing, but you are never behind. When you feel ready to talk, we will meet you there.
Very little. If you know the cemetery name and the section or plot, that is helpful but not required. We can look up many details for you. Photos or examples of stones you like are welcome, but not necessary.
Yes. Consultations are free and carry no obligation. We will answer your questions, show you options, and give you a clear written estimate so you can decide in your own time.
Yes. Many families prefer a quiet in-home visit, and others find it helpful to walk the cemetery together. We also meet at our Wentzville office by appointment. Evening and weekend times are available by request.
We serve families throughout St. Louis City and County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Warren County, and Jefferson County, with our office in Wentzville.
The words are often used interchangeably. Generally, a headstone or monument is an upright stone that stands above the ground, while a grave marker is a flat or low stone that sits at or near ground level. Slants and bevels fall in between. We will explain which styles your cemetery allows.
Granite is the most popular choice. It is extremely durable, comes in many colors, and can be carved, engraved, or etched. Bronze is used mostly for flat markers and is often set on a granite base. Some cemeteries or sections require one or the other, and we will help you choose what fits.
Yes. Families often add religious symbols, military or service emblems, flowers, landscapes, or images that reflect a hobby or passion. We will show you examples and create a layout for your approval.
Most memorials include a full name and dates. Many families add a short verse, prayer, or phrase that captures their loved one. If you are unsure, we can share examples and help you find the right words.
Yes. Companion and family memorials can be designed with space for a future name and dates. When that time comes, we can add the lettering to match the original work.
We regularly work with cemeteries across St. Louis and St. Charles County and know their guidelines. If we have not worked with your cemetery before, we contact them directly to learn their requirements and handle approvals for you.
Every cemetery sets its own rules for size, style, material, and installation, and those rules can vary by section. We prepare drawings, submit them to your cemetery, and work through any revisions so your memorial is approved before it is made.
Some cemeteries charge fees for foundations, setting, or permits. We will tell you about any cemetery fees we know of up front so there are no surprises.
Costs vary based on size, material, design, and cemetery requirements. During a free consultation we provide a clear written estimate with no obligation. We work within your budget and explain options that can save cost without sacrificing quality.
Timing depends on cemetery approval, the stone you choose, and weather. Many cemeteries do not install on frozen ground, so winter can add time. We will give you an estimated timeline at the start and keep you updated along the way.
Before anything is made, we send you a design proof showing every name, date, and detail. Please review it carefully. Production begins only after you approve the proof.
Many veterans are eligible for a government-furnished headstone, marker, or medallion through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Families can also choose a private memorial that includes military emblems and service details. We are glad to talk through the options with you.
Yes. We can add final dates or new names to many existing memorials and will work to match the original lettering. Some cemeteries require approval for added lettering, and we will handle that for you.
Gentle care is best. Use plain water and a soft brush, and avoid bleach, wire brushes, and harsh household cleaners, which can damage stone. If you have questions about a specific memorial, give us a call.
Yes. Some families prefer to choose a memorial in advance so their loved ones will not have to make these decisions later. We are happy to walk you through the options whenever you are ready.
A brief conversation can answer many questions and bring a sense of relief. There is no obligation and no rush.
